At Shadowlands Farm, we want to make getting your farm-fresh eggs and live rabbits as convenient as possible. We offer several ways to receive your order, ranging from local pickup in Oudtshoorn to nationwide courier services.
1. Farm Collection (Oudtshoorn)
We welcome customers to collect their orders directly from the farm. This is the best way to ensure maximum freshness and zero shipping costs.
Cost: FREE.
How it Works: Select the “Local Pickup / Farm Collection” option at checkout.
Scheduling: Once your order is ready, we will contact you via WhatsApp or Email to provide our exact location and coordinate a collection time that suits both parties.
Note for Rabbits: Collection is highly recommended for live animals to minimize stress. Please bring a suitable, ventilated carrier.
2. Free Local Delivery (Oudtshoorn Town)
For our neighbors within the Oudtshoorn town limits, we offer a complimentary delivery service.
Eligibility: Automatically applied at checkout based on your Oudtshoorn address/postal code.
Schedule: Deliveries are typically grouped by area and performed [insert days, e.g., Tuesday and Friday mornings].
3. National Shipping (South Africa Only)
We ship our eggs and rabbits across South Africa using an integrated courier facility.
Live Rate Quotes: Shipping costs are calculated in real-time at checkout based on the destination, weight, and dimensions of your package.
Integrated Tracking: You will receive a tracking number as soon as your order is dispatched.
4. Handling of Perishables & Live Animals
Eggs: Our eggs are unwashed to preserve the natural “bloom,” making them shelf-stable and hardy for transport.
Rabbits: Live animal shipping is subject to weather conditions. We will not ship during extreme heatwaves (common in the Karoo) to ensure the safety of the animal.
5. Collection/Delivery Protocol
Promptness: For the sake of the health of our animals and the freshness of our eggs, please ensure you collect your order or are available for delivery at the agreed-upon time.
Address Accuracy: Please double-check your delivery address. Shadowlands Farm is not responsible for lost packages due to incorrect address details provided at checkout.
