Shadowlands Farm: Refund & Returns Policy

At Shadowlands Farm, we deal in living creatures and fresh produce. Because of the unique bio-security risks and the perishable nature of our products, all sales are final. We do not offer returns or “change of mind” refunds.

By purchasing from us, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

1. Live Rabbits (Bio-Security Protocol)

To protect the health of our colony, we maintain a strict bio-security barrier.

  • No Returns: Once a rabbit leaves Shadowlands Farm, it cannot be returned. This prevents the potential introduction of RHDV or other pathogens back into our environment.

  • Health Check: For local pickups, we will perform a health check with you present to ensure the rabbit is in peak condition.

  • Transit Risk: Shadowlands Farm is not liable for stress or injury caused by third-party transport.

2. Free-Range Eggs

  • Perishability: As a food product, eggs cannot be returned or resold.

  • Handled with Care: We take immense pride in our packaging. However, the postal service can be unpredictable.

3. Claims for Shipping & Handling

We treat shipping mishaps as the only exception to our “No Refund” rule.

  • Damage Claims: If your eggs arrive significantly damaged (over 10% breakage), you must email info@shadowlandsfarm.co.za within 12 hours of delivery. You must include clear photos of the damaged eggs inside the original Shadowlands Farm packaging.

  • Loss of Life: In the event of a loss during a farm-sanctioned delivery, immediate notification (with photos) is required within 2 hours of the delivery timestamp.

  • Resolution: At our discretion, we may offer a store credit or a replacement for the damaged/lost items. Shipping costs for replacements are the responsibility of the buyer.

4. Order Cancellations

Orders for live animals involve preparation and “holding” time. If you cancel an order after a deposit has been paid or a pickup date has been set, the deposit is non-refundable.
